Weston Bend State Park | Missouri State Parks

An old part of the Lewis and Clark expedition. This is almost like being down in the Ozarks.
They have built a wooden patio overlook you can go to, and right there is a trail goes off along the bluff. About sixty feet below is the train tracks that run along the Missouri River.
About 1/4 mile down that trail there is a clearing right before the Weston Bend of the river.
As we stood there watching the river and the occasional train, there were 6-7 hawks soaring right there in front of us.
It was spectacular. An unforgettable moment.

And like a big dummy,,, I forgot my camera that day which I always, always make a point of having with me at all times(head slap)

And if you go there, you have got to go to Weston Brewing Company & O'Malley's Pub which is located some 50 ft underground in an old lager fermenting cave.
