Chinese fireball observations indicate that there is a great swathe of disintegrating dark debris circulating in the inner solar system, occasionally producing Tunguska and super-Tunguska bombardments.
This swathe cuts across the Earth's orbit around mid-summer and Halloween, in a huge elliptical torus, reaching out short of Jupiter
